Loliondo village is situated in Ngorongoro District of Arusha Region in Northern Tanzania and its known as the site of the "miracle cure" administered by Ambilikile Mwasapile, a retired pastor from the Lutheran Church known as "Babu wa Loliondo" (meaning Loliondo Grandfather). Babu is the druid behind the once popular ‘wonder cup’, essentially a herbal drink allegedly fortified with divine healing properties capable of curing practically ‘any ailment’ at the cost of 500/- plus one’s faith that needs to be slightly larger than a mustard seed.
The cure is said to apply to all incurable diseases such as cancer, HIV/AIDS, ulcers, hypertension, and diabetes. He claims that most of the people who took the ‘medicine’ were healed
Mwasapile, who between November 2010 and June 2012 had administered the single cup dose to more than six million people from all over the globe, hasn't changed much physically despite his bulging bank account, two new houses, three cars and about-two year world fame.
