I read this pretty interesting research on the DailyMail UK and thought to share. According to a new research, 5 women — from the ages of 29 to 64 — reveal all about their sex lives.

Gemma is married with one a young daughter. In the early years of their marriage, she and her husband had lots of sex…sometimes more than once in a day.

Over the years, with an ectopic pregnancy and two miscarriages where she had to wait for months to heal, their sex life became almost non-existent. Somehow, they were able to build back the romance. Now, when they make love, it usually starts with a kiss, a cuddle and 30 mins of sex.

Simmy’s heart was broken by a man who promised her heaven and earth but dumped her immediately after they had sex. Since then she has vowed to remain celibate until her wedding night. She wishes she could go back in time to erase that unfortunate encounter.

She said she lost her virginity at 18 and has had 8 sexual partners since then…the longest relationship lasting for 3 years…all broke her heart. So until she meets a man with a high level of patience and commitment, it’s no sex!

Trisha is divorced with two daughters aged 36 and 34. Her marriage because she had a traumatic birth with her first baby. Since then sex for her became incredibly painful. This marked the beginning of the end.

She said she used to have a high libido having lost her virginity at 14. She has had about 50 sexual partners since then including her hubby whom she married in 1974. Later when the pain-during-sex went away, she had several relationships but was discreet about it to protect her then teenage daughters.

Now at almost 60, her priorities have shifted. Despite having a high libido, she doesn’t miss sex. According to her, “Giving up sex is like quitting sugar: once you get over the initial craving, you learn to live without it.” She’d love to settle down for good with one special man.

Vanessa is married with 2 daughters, aged 10 and 7. Sex for her now is confined to the bedroom because the kids are older now and know what’s up ;) . She says she has a seasonal sex life as she hates sex in the winter but feels sexier in the summer.

She said what turns her on is spontaneous sex like it was when they first met but with the kids grown, certain amount of ‘planning’ is required…especially having to wait until the kids are all tucked into bed. Nowadays, she says she obliges her husband sex because she’s aware how important sex is for emotional intimacy in a marriage.

Diana is a divorced grandmother with three children, aged 39, 34 and 32, and one grandchild, aged ten months. She’s in a relationship with a guy 9 years her junior whom she met on a dating site a month ago spends hours on the phone chatting with. Hear her:

I've had more sex in the past decade than I did in my happy but virtually sexless 30-year marriage, which ended 11 years ago. In fact, I've only properly discovered sex since then — and I told my ex-husband this when I saw him last year when we met up for a coffee and a catch-up.

She says her sex life died the moment she married her husband at age 22. She had to work on her self-esteem for 6 months after her divorce and was so terrified of opening her 50-something year old body to a new man. But today, she says she feels like a teenager and she sometimes has sex two to three times a day! Whoa Grandma!
